Over the last several weeks we have been working on ethical will projects. Today I’d like to talk about putting together your ethical will kit. The benefits of writing an ethical will and putting together an ethical will kit is that the kit will contain everything that your heirs need to deal with the business and emotional issues that will present themselves after you pass away. Your ethical will kit will contain your ethical will, your last will and testament and supporting documents and policies.
Ethical wills make up the first part of your ethical will kit. You will want to protect your ethical will by placing it is a waterproof folder. You may also want to seal ethical letters in envelopes which are addressed to the person that the letter is intended for. This will ensure that your spiritual messages are kept private until they are read by the person you wrote them for.
The next part of your ethical will kit will be your last will and testament. This document will cover the legal aspects of your estate.
The third part of your ethical will kit will be all the supporting documents, policies, keys, etc. that your estate’s executor will need to process your probate account. For example, you will want to put insurance policies, safe deposit box keys and other important documents that your heirs will need.
